Special low frequency version

I have nothing interesting to say right now. Just listen to this and look at the photoz.

Those first five are from a recent trip to Vermont. I went up to Burlington for a long weekend with friends Sidney and Nick to look for a place to live next year and Nick and I essentially spent the weekend homeless. In our wanderings we happened on a VW graveyard of sorts with tons of rusting relics of the 60's and 70's. And there was a small bonsai garden right next to the cars that someone obviously put a lot of love into. We also visited that filing cabinet sculpture which stands about 50 feet in the air in the middle of nowhere in the north end.

Who doesn't love a good self portrait?

Not even star-crossed, just unlucky

Greetings earthlings. My dad indirectly works for Fujifilm and they were doing a test on their printing machines this week so I got a shit load of prints made for free! I have had a bunch of sleeves of negatives that I never printed because I can't afford it piling up in my room and finally I got all of those color babies done. These are the best photos of the lot, a mix of pictures from Portland, and from my month home around Christmas. I also sent in a bunch of black and white negatives so I will probably be posting a bunch more tomorrow so please check back if you haven't decided to hate my blog like many of those cordial folks who commented on my last post. I hate to disappoint the kids...

This baby is not a great exposure but the light on their faces is just amazing. I love them.

Mom...

Hailey's christmas present, a fisheye lens for her Diana, which she calls Princess Di.

This was taken the same night as the one of Luke and Kt holding each other up with their heads. I used a tripod and had Luke run around me while I took a 5 second exposure.

If you ever get a chance to go to Portland you must must MUST got to Really Good Stuff on SE Hawethorne and 12th. It is the best antique/junk store I have ever been to and the guy that owns it is the fucking man. I am not sure which of these first two pictures I like better so I put them up for a vote. Tell me which one is better and win a prize!

This is what my back yard looked like in Oregon. Yum!

These were taken on one of many lonely lonely nights in my house in Oregon. I really liked how warm the wood looked in the light so I just collected a bunch of things from around the house and had them strike a couple poses for me. I'm not really a "series" type of dude when it comes to photos but I like how these came out.

How can you love me if you don't love yourself?

Home. It is so fucking amazing. Unlimited food and a Mom who will take me to Trader Joe's on a whim. I think I understand why people live with their parents for their whole lives. I have a full-full-full-time job now so I haven't really had a chance to do a lot of photo capturing, but I did set up my pinhole darkroom in the attic and take couple real quick. I also did a preliminary round of solargraphy for a week and a half and the photo turned out ok but I think I need a new location with a bit more noise in the foreground. I have ten rolls of film taken during my last week in Portland, the train ride and in Chicago and St. Louis so once I get my first enormous paycheck I will be getting those babies developed. Check back for those soon, but until then check out the goldies.

This one was taken on three separate strips to create that black line in the middle. This was an experiment that I had been thinking of trying for a while, but I think it ended up looking pretty stupid. The picture itself is awesome though, which is why I am posting it instead of lining my trashcan with it.

I took this photo last summer when I was visiting Sarah in Brooklyn and then put it back in my folder of paper to protect it for the journey home and forgot about it. Then in November I mistook it for a blank piece and tried to use it for a test strip for this picture and got this little combo baby. The picture by itself is pretty cool and I think it ended up being a nice combo as well. I am so fucking artistic my mistakes are masterpieces!

Another experiment that did not work how I wanted it to. I love when people edit text onto their photos and I figured it would be cool to do this with my pinholes so I put a piece of paper that I wrote on over the picture when I was making my contact print of this. Unfortunately, the pen wasn't dark enough so it just ended up looking like a blob. Still, I like it.

Solargraph.

This is a very disappointing post. I am sorry.

And if he stands on the moon he can barely catch her eyes...

This Saturday will be my last day in Portland. I will be boarding the train and heading back to New Jersey, via visits to Mr. Weiss in Chicago and Mr. Holt in St. Louis. Up until last month I was really ready to go, tired of living in the woods all alone, tired of having no money, friends, ect. ect. ect. But, as it is bound to happen, this last month has been the best month here, and one of the best in memory. So part of me is sad, leaving behind all of the amazing things that I have learned to love in Portland, but more then that I am happy to have found great things to look back at as my train pulls away from the station. On that note I would like to dedicate this post to Fiona, who is largely responsible for my full belly and my uplifted soul this past month.
Alright enough of the emotional mumbo-jumbo. These photos are from my last trip to New Space. I am incredibly pleased with these. I was feeling pretty burned on photos and on my Nikon especially, but these turned me around. The first two are pictures of CALVIN MOTHERFUCKING JOHNSON!!!!!! He played at Laughing Horse Books about a month ago and it was a site!! He probably spent more time telling stories and dancing then playing songs, but they were excellent stories, and boy can he wiggle. The last picture is a sepia toned print of Mt. Hood that I took through one of those machines where you feed it a quarter and it acts like a little telescope or something. I think it looks pretty groovy! Sorry for so many words and not so many pictures, but alas, life is tough.

If you would be so kind, click on this one and view it large so that you can appreciate the sign in the middle.

To those of you fuckers reading this in New Jersey, I will see you soon.
